Course aim :

The overall aim of the course is to build capacity of humanitarian workers and decision makers on monitoring and evaluation for effectiveness and quality humanitarian response.

Course objective at the end of the course participants would be able to:

  • Comprehend the principles of monitoring and evaluation in humanitarian actions.
  • Understand the role of monitoring and evaluation at every stage of emergency program cycle.
  • Outline different approaches for monitoring and evaluation.
  • Understand the significance of humanitarian response standards within evaluation and monitoring of humanitarian actions.
  • Design monitoring and evaluation systems for humanitarian intervention

The course is suitable for participants from a wide variety of backgrounds including:

  • Specialist professionals deployed (or seeking deployment) in a particular field of expertise
  • Emergency response or management specialists with some experience of a major NGO transnational network or the UN
  • Government officials working in emergencies from the region
